Job Summary
Reporting to the Industrialization Manager, the programmer is responsible for programming machining centers according to customer specifications, handling various metals and complexities, while adhering to quality, cost, and time constraints. They are also responsible for the proper functioning of their programs and related components, and for debugging/correcting them as needed. Furthermore, they ensure compliance with tooling standards and procure non-standard tools when required.
Skills & qualifications sought

College diploma in mechanical engineering or any other related field OR Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining technology combined with a professional specialization certificate (ASP) in numerical control;

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position in the precision machining and complex component manufacturing sector;

Knowledge of Mastercam software, Vericut essential, Catia V5 (an asset).

Analytical skills, methodical and detail-oriented;

Knowledge of programming on multi-axis CNC machines;

Ability to read technical plans;

Ability to work under pressure;

High capacity for collaboration;

Demonstrate rigor, accuracy and precision;
Tasks and responsibilities

Program CNC machines while respecting tooling standards and the established method.

Prepare the assembly sheets, including instructions and lists of necessary tools.

Make program changes as requested by production, methods, or quality control.

Plan the manufacturing schedule taking into account machines, geometric constraints, assemblies and material treatments.

Analyze the drawings and technical data rigorously.

Select the appropriate cutting tools according to the machine and the material.

Optimize programming times and machining methods to improve efficiency.

Ensure consistency between drawings, technical specifications and CNC programs.

Modeling fixing devices (fixtures) and designing the tools necessary for manufacturing and production.

Perform all other related tasks associated with the position.

Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize working methods within the department.
Conditions

Salary Between $26.08 and $39.12 per hour, depending on the experience and skills of the successful candidate.
